Command GPS in Mercedes

I'm interested in who manufactures the Command GPS system for Mercedes Benz. Anybody know? I found a few links on installing the system, as well as a firmware update but virtually nothing approaching full details.

Rishi probably knows. By the way, I have an idea.

it's made by Blaupunkt for Mercedes. It's impossible to find the schematics for it though. A friend of mine works for an electronics shop that sells Blaupunkt and even he cannot get his hands on the schematics. His laser failed and he had to order a complete laser assembly ($$$) as he could not get any info about the unit. Even Blaupunkt Belgium didn't have detailed info! (I'm from Belgium). They were able to supply the laser assembly though.
IOW, if the unit ever fails, you could have a problem.

I own a S320 CDI, Year of Manufacture - 2001, with a command system and navigation/GPS.

The car shipped out of Germany with a German map.

I would like to upload a Srilanka Road map since I am in Sri Lanka and the car is used here in Sri Lanka.

The Survey Department of the Government of Sri Lanka already has digital maps of the road network and other topographical features of Sri lanka available for sale in CD format.

Can any body help in letting me know on how I could bring this map data into my Mercedes NAV system?

I would be deeply greatful for the help.

Cheers,

Mahen.
